Notes from Norway is a result of ongoing research that engages with conversations surrounding nostalgia and values of family farming. Consisting of field notes and sketches, the work is a recording of a trip across multiple Norwegian farms taken in July/August of this year. These locations include Holmestrand, Hemsedal, and Lier.
The aim of the wider project seeks to share stories from localised family farming communities in a way that could reignite thinking and connectivity towards ones own environments. As well as, enabling a questioning of attitudes towards produce and agriculture. Notes from Norway is just a glimpse into the beginnings and background of Amelia-Rose Penny’s work.
This showcase has been produced is in conjunction with ‘farmhouse’, a research exhibition located in Elevator Studios Baltic, from 4th- 27th October.
